What makes a pre-roll ‘infused’?

An infused pre-roll takes a base of ground cannabis flower and adds a concentrate, kief, or both, either mixed into the flower before rolling or coated on the outside of the finished joint. The result is a product built from two categories at once instead of flower alone.

Standard pre-rolls are ground flower and paper, nothing else. Infused pre-rolls start from that same base and build on it, which is why they sit in a separate section of the menu rather than next to the standard pre-roll jars.

Licensed adult-use sales in Ohio began in August 2024, following voter approval of Issue 2 in November 2023. Every product category, including infused pre-rolls, operates under the same seed-to-sale testing rules established under that framework.

Because it carries an added concentrate or kief layer, letting it sit exposed can affect texture and burn more noticeably than with a standard pre-roll.

If you buy more than one at a time, keeping unused infused pre-rolls in their original packaging or an airtight container until you are ready to smoke helps preserve both the flower base and whatever was added to it.
