Visiting a dispensary for the first time should be exciting, not intimidating. At The Garden, we’ve completely stripped away the corporate jargon and confusing terminology to create a warm, plain-English experience. Here is everything you need to know before you walk through our doors.
1. What You Must Bring (Compliance Checklist)
Before we can let you into the showroom, Ohio law requires us to verify your age and identity. There are absolutely no exceptions to these rules:
- A Valid Government Photo ID: This must be an unexpired state-issued driver’s license, state ID card, or passport.
- Age Requirement: You must be 21 or older for adult-use purchase. Under-21 purchases are only permitted for registered Ohio medical patients with a valid medical card.
- Payment Method: Cash or debit card. We cannot accept credit cards. We have secure physical ATMs inside our lobby, and our registers have cashless debit terminals.
2. What Happens When You Arrive
When you arrive at either our Camp Washington or Sycamore Township stores, you’ll first enter our lobby reception area.
- The ID Check: A friendly staff member will scan and verify your physical photo ID.
- Lobby vs. Showroom: Once verified, you will be invited into our clean, modern showroom.
- No Pressure Browsing: You can walk around and browse our high-definition digital kiosks at your own pace, or walk straight up to a budtender for a guided conversation.
- Order Fulfillment: Our fulfillment team in the back will pack your fresh products, seal them in compliance-approved opaque bags, and send them to the cash register.
- Payment and Go: You’ll pay at the register, receive your sealed bag, and be on your way.
3. Tips for a Great First Visit
- Ask Questions: There are no "dumb" questions. Our budtenders love guiding beginners. Tell them what kind of vibe you want (e.g. "for unwinding on the couch" or "energizing for a hike") and they will find the perfect match.
- Don't Overdo It: If you are trying edibles or vaporizers for the first time, our golden rule is "start low and go slow."
