Who can shop at an Ohio dispensary?

Any adult 21 or older with a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID can shop at an Ohio recreational dispensary. That includes out-of-state IDs and passports. No medical card, appointment, or membership is required to buy adult-use cannabis at either Garden Dispensary location.

Ohio voters approved adult-use cannabis in November 2023, and licensed recreational sales began in August 2024. The rules are set by the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control, and every licensed dispensary checks ID at the door on every visit, no exceptions.

Ohio medical marijuana patients can still shop with their patient card, and both stores serve medical and recreational customers at the same counters. If you are visiting from Kentucky or Indiana, your home-state driver’s license works fine as ID, but anything you buy has to stay, and be used, in Ohio.

How much cannabis can I buy and possess in Ohio?

Ohio law lets adults 21 and older possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis flower and up to 15 grams of extract. Dispensary purchases are tracked against state limits at the register, so your budtender will flag anything over the line before you pay.

Those numbers come straight from the adult-use statute Ohio voters approved as Issue 2. The possession limit applies statewide, whether the product came from Camp Washington, Sycamore Township, or any other licensed store.

Home grow is also legal in Ohio: up to six plants per adult and twelve per household, grown at your own residence out of public view. What is never legal is taking cannabis across state lines, even into another legal state, or consuming it in your car or in public.

What payment methods do Ohio dispensaries accept?

Both Garden Dispensary locations accept cash and debit cards, with ATMs available on site. We also support Spendr, a Cincinnati-built digital payment and rewards platform. Standard credit cards are not accepted at Ohio dispensaries because of federal banking rules.

Cash remains the simplest option, and each store has an ATM inside. Debit runs through a cashless ATM system, which may round to the nearest dollar and add a small terminal fee, the same way it works at most dispensaries nationwide.

Pricing and current specials live on the menu, which updates in real time. Check the Camp Washington menu or Sycamore Township menu before you visit rather than relying on a screenshot from last week.

How does the drive-thru work?

The Garden runs cannabis drive-thru lanes at both stores, open daily from 9AM to 11PM, a full hour past the 10PM lobby close. Order ahead on the online menu, bring your ID, and pick up without leaving your car.

The drive-thru follows the same rules as the counter: ID checked every time, 21 and older only, and state purchase limits enforced. It is the fastest option during evening rush and the most comfortable one in January.
