What ID do I need to bring?

Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID: a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID all work. Out-of-state IDs are accepted the same as an Ohio ID. Staff check ID at the door on every visit, regardless of how many times you have shopped before.

Expired IDs cannot be accepted, and staff cannot make exceptions even for a regular customer whose ID happens to have lapsed. Double-check the expiration date before you leave the house if it has been a while.

A physical ID is what staff check; a photo of an ID on a phone is not an acceptable substitute. Bring the actual card or document with you every time.

What should I bring to pay with?

Cash or a debit card are the most reliable options, since credit cards are not accepted at Ohio dispensaries due to federal banking restrictions. Both Garden stores also accept Spendr. An ATM is available on site at both locations if you need cash on the spot.

Knowing this ahead of time saves an awkward moment at the register. A shopper who shows up expecting to swipe a credit card is the single most common surprise staff deal with at checkout.

Should I bring cash even if I plan to use debit?

A little backup cash is a reasonable habit, mainly because it removes any dependency on a card reader having a good moment. Both stores have an on-site ATM either way, so it is not strictly necessary, just a convenience.

This is more of a general retail habit than a dispensary-specific rule. Most visits go through smoothly on debit alone.

Is there anything I should not bring?

Leave any outside cannabis products at home; they cannot be brought onto dispensary property, compared against store products, or combined with a purchase. Consumption of any kind is not permitted on site, so there is no reason to bring anything to use there.

If you are coming from out of state, the same rule applies regardless of what is legal where you are traveling from. Ohio’s rules govern what happens on Ohio dispensary property.

Traveling light in general just makes a visit easier. A wallet with ID and a payment method covers what you actually need; anything more is optional rather than required.

Does bringing a written list or menu screenshot help?

It can, especially if you already reviewed the live menu at home and know roughly what you want. It is not required, since a budtender can build a recommendation from scratch, but it does speed up a visit when you already have specific products in mind.

Building an order in advance on the live menu for Camp Washington or Sycamore Township is the fastest version of this, especially if you plan to use the drive-thru.
