Cannabis Vaporizers: Disposables vs. Cartridges

Confused by vape lingo? We break down the differences between convenient all-in-one disposables and interchangeable 510-threaded cartridges.

Vaporizers offer a discreet, convenient, and smoke-free way to inhale cannabis. By heating concentrated cannabis oil to a precise temperature, they release vapor without burning the plant material. If you are browsing our menu, you’ll notice two primary formats: All-In-One Disposables and 510-Threaded Cartridges. Here is how they compare.

1. All-In-One Disposables

An all-in-one disposable is exactly what it sounds like: a single, self-contained device that includes both the cannabis oil and a built-in pre-charged battery.

  • How it works: Simply pull it out of the package, draw from the mouthpiece, and inhale. When the oil runs out or the battery dies, you discard the entire unit.
  • Pros: Ultimate convenience, zero setup required, extremely discreet, great for travel.
  • Cons: Less environmentally friendly, cannot swap strains mid-unit, slightly more expensive per milligram.

2. 510-Threaded Cartridges & Batteries

This is a two-piece system consisting of a separate cartridge filled with oil and a reusable, rechargeable battery. The cartridge screws into the battery using a standard "510" thread.

  • How it works: You purchase a reusable battery once (available in-store for $10-$20). Then, you buy individual cartridges as needed, screw them in, and press a button or draw to inhale.
  • Pros: Highly cost-effective (you only buy the oil cartridge, not the battery, each time), allows you to swap between different strains instantly, customizable temperature settings on many batteries.
  • Cons: Requires keeping a battery charged, slightly less pocket-friendly than integrated disposables.

3. Vaporizer Oils: Distillate vs. Live Resin

  • Distillate: Pure, highly refined THC oil. Typically has high potency with added botanical terpenes for fruit or candy flavors.
  • Live Resin: Made from fresh-frozen cannabis plants, preserving the original strain aroma, full-spectrum cannabinoids, and deep herbal flavor. Chosen by quality-focused enthusiasts.
